The Ocean Race has been actively engaged in sustainability initiatives within boat building, hosting workshops since 2016. Despite progress, the transition to a sustainable and circular model has been slow. To address this, a research initiative was launched to identify barriers and solutions, culminating in an industry survey and stakeholder consultations. The report summarizes these findings and highlights key areas for improvement, including life cycle assessment, waste management, materials, energy, and governance. Drawing from previous workshops and industry research, the report aims to catalyze and accelerate action towards a more sustainable future for offshore racing.
