ExoTechnologies, a maritime green technology startup, has successfully delivered a fully recyclable, high-performance workboat to Orbital Marine Power to aid its offshore operations. Constructed from the innovative DANUTM composite material, this vessel is designed to transport engineers to the O2 turbine—Orbital Marine Power’s commercial demonstrator and the world’s most powerful tidal turbine, located off Orkney.
Manufactured at the Ultimate Boats yard in Glasgow, the 11-meter O-class Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RIB) is equipped to navigate the challenging sea conditions around Orkney. It features a wheelhouse, shock mitigation units, and an impressive 450 nautical mile range. The vessel also includes ExoTechnologies’ advanced ExoHullTM technology, engineered for efficient movement and fuel savings, which reduces environmental impact and operational costs.
