Hellenic Shipping News : EXOTECHNOLOGIES AND RONN STRIKE HYDROGEN PROPULSION PARTNERSHIP

ExoTechnologies, headquartered on the Isle of Man and owner of Glasgow-based Ultimate Boats, has entered into an innovative partnership with Arizona-based hydrogen vehicle manufacturer, RONN. This collaboration aims to develop cutting-edge clean hydrogen electric propulsion systems for a new line of high-performance watercraft for commercial, tactical, and military uses, all to be built by Ultimate Boats in Scotland.

Shane Mugan, CEO of ExoTechnologies, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership following the signing of a letter of intent. Building on the success of launching the first fully recyclable workboat made from the patented DANU™ composite material for Police Scotland last year, Mugan is eager to take a significant leap forward. “We are very excited to announce our new partnership with a pioneer like the RONN,” he said. “We share an outlook and passion for driving decarbonisation. We are aiming to develop a clean hydrogen electric propulsion solution for our boats. This new system will propel our recyclable high-performance craft into a new era of marine technology.”

Ronn Ford, Chairman & CEO of RONN, also highlighted the transformative aspirations of the partnership: “The power of our collaboration with ExoTechnologies is in our shared vision of creating a sustainable future through innovative propulsion solutions. Together, we will strive to help drive the marine industry’s transformation, leaving behind a legacy of clean energy and inspiring change for generations to come.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Ultimate Boats’ recent accolade where their Police Scotland boat was named Patrol Boat of the Year at the Work Boat World Awards, further underscoring the impact and potential of this new partnership.
