ExoTechnologies, based in the Isle of Man and owner of the Glasgow boat builder Ultimate Boats, has teamed up with Arizona-based RONN Motor Group to develop hydrogen propulsion systems. This partnership, marked by the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI), aims to create clean hydrogen electric propulsion systems for a range of high-performance watercraft intended for commercial, tactical, and military use, all to be constructed by Ultimate Boats in Scotland.
This collaboration builds on Ultimate Boats’ launch of its first fully recyclable workboat, crafted from the innovative DANU composite material, for Police Scotland. ExoTechnologies CEO Shane Mugan expressed enthusiasm for taking this initiative further with RONN to produce an industry-disrupting hydrogen-propelled craft. He highlighted the partnership’s commitment to decarbonisation and pioneering new advancements in marine technology.
